Hi All,

We have been invited to join Janis Upshall, Janet Dizney and Patty Neurnburg's Suzuki violin studios in playing during the Junior Daffidol Parade this year. Although I have a workshop in Kent that day and won't be able to attend, Janis has graciously opened the invitation to all of you anyway! The parade is on Saturday, March 28, although the performance is subject to weather (since you can't play violins outside if it's raining). There will be a rehearsal at Janis' house the Tuesday before (March 24) from 6 to 7 pm (4410 N. 24th Street, 98406).

On the play-list:

Our ensemble concert is scheduled for Saturday, May 9 at 3pm in Schneebeck Concert hall. Our final group class of the year, and group concert, is scheduled for Tuesday, June 2 at 5:30pm (Kilworth). Tuesday, June 9 will be used as a rehearsal for the Saturday, June 13th final concert. The final concert is at 6:30pm in Schneebeck. I am still looking into a performance space for the advanced group class, possibly Mandolin Cafe in May. I'll keep you updated!

Looks like school's canceled for tomorrow (Friday) already. The roads are VERY icy. My car's in a garage on a hill, so I don't think I'm going anywhere (no lessons on Friday). Sorry I missed seeing so many of you this week. I hope everyone has a nice holiday - lessons and group start back on Jan. 5th. See you in the new year!

Just a quick reminder to call the Community Music office if you're unsure whether or not lessons are canceled due to weather conditions (253-879-3575). Usually, if the Tacoma School District closes, so does Community Music. Also, remember that Tuesday is a play-in in Kilworth Chapel at 5:30 pm (no 4:30 Pre-Twinkle class). Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving break. We have a busy week ahead of us, preparing for the December 6th recital. Here is a reminder of the different Tuesday schedule:

Just a reminder, that starting tomorrow (Weds, Nov. 19) there are no lessons (private or group) until December 1st. The only exception is the advanced group class on Monday, Nov. 24, which will be meeting without me.

Also, if you are in book 2 or above, remember to come prepared to practice with Richard Ling (piano) on Tuesday, December 2.

It turns out we have a couple of unforeseen Kilworth conflicts coming up - one of them on December 9th. Which means, our first concert will be on Saturday, December 6th at 4pm in Schneebeck. This also means we will be meeting in a different space for group on December 9th, and will probably have to rearrange for December 16th as well. I'll let you know when more details come available.
